Can you tell me a little about yourself?
I live in the country
and work for my animals—I have
seven cats, 2 dogs and 2 horses. I’m
also interested in spiritual healing
and want to start a clinic.
What was your family
history as it related to alcohol?
None.
How long had you
been drinking before meeting Rhonda?
Ever since high
school, but I didn’t really drink
a lot until the last 8 years or so.
I’m going through a divorce, so
I was doing the numb-out routine.
Now that you’re
not "numbing out", how do
you cope?
I think I’ve
become this bitch—I scream and
yell. But at least I’m not stuffing
it down. Before, I’d just ignore
what was happening in my life and that
I was unhappy. And I thought, "I
can live like this." And then I
finally decided, "No, I’m
not going to." And that really
came to the forefront after I quit drinking.
This is absolutely the worst, most hellacious
time in my life, and I’m doing
it all without drinking—and that’s
really a miracle.
Could you describe
the nature of your drinking?
About 10 beers a
day. I did most of my drinking in the
afternoon. I’d start drinking
about 3:30 and drink till about six.
I really didn’t want to quit drinking.
Have you tried any
other programs to stop drinking?
No
How did you learn
about The Lenair Technique?
I had read an article
about Rhonda in a holistic publication
called Healing Options. Shortly after
I read the article I picked up the phone.
I just wanted to see what the heck Rhonda
was doing. I didn’t want to admit
to it, either, and when I called, Barry
asked me what was my addiction. And
I thought, oh God, I’ve got to
tell him something and I said, "Beer
could be an issue." Barry has such
a nice way about him. He told me a little
bit about what she did. I figured it’s
a good time. There’s a reason
I’m calling. I might as well just
sign up and do it.
Were you skeptical
about this type of treatment?
I was more curious
than skeptical. I didn’t want
to stop drinking—I wanted to know
what she’s doing. I’m into
other alternative stuff and thought
wow, this sounds really good. Maybe
she could teach me how to do this. I
just wanted to see what this was all
about. But I got the bonus of quitting
drinking in the process.
Why did you want
to stop?
I didn’t really
want to stop drinking because I enjoyed
it. It was my lifestyle. I’d been
drinking beer ever since college. I
tried to quit five times on own but
it never really worked. I stopped drinking
for anywhere from a couple of days to
maybe two months. But I’d always
start again.
Once you heard about
The Lenair Technique, how long did it
take you to make an appointment?
I picked up the
phone immediately, but it took a while
to get in to see her because they were
so busy.
Once you scheduled
your appointment, did you have any apprehension
or fears about going through with the
program?
I was scared to
go in there. I thought, "What am
I doing here?"
What was your experience
at the first treatment?
I wonder myself
what she did to me. I went into her
little room and she sat in her chair
and told me what was going to happen.
I couldn’t hear a thing she said
to me. This is really odd. I was nervous.
But after she sat down, all I saw was
this 6 to 8" of gold around her
head and shoulders and it wouldn’t
go away. So I kept looking away and
looking back. And I was so into that
aura that I wasn’t hearing what
she said. So I don’t know what
she said to me. She had me lie down
on the couch, guided me through a journey,
and put her hands on my forehead. And
she started talking fast—bits
and pieces started coming out about
my neck, this vertebra or that hip—and
every one of them was right. And then
names would come up, or at this time
in your life this happened. And every
one of them was right on.
After it was over,
I was really la la. I thought how the
hell am I going to drive four hours?
Did you stop drinking
after your first treatment?
Yes.
Did you have any
physical cravings?
I walked out that
door and I haven’t had the desire
since. And that’s just a total
miracle to me. Because every day for
about as long as I can remember I’d
want a beer about four o’clock.
Now, even with all I’m going through
with my divorce, I still don’t
have the urge to drink.
I am more interested
in sugar now—you get all that
sugar in alcohol. But I haven’t
gained any weight. Rhonda gave me this
list of vitamins and tinctures and I
did everything she told me. She put
me on a detox program. I even had all
the old fillings taken out of my mouth
because she said I had metal toxins.
It cost a fortune.
What was your experience
at the second and third treatments?
I didn’t have
any more issues with alcohol, so she
helped me on issues with my husband.
That didn’t work anywhere near
as well as the alcohol. I didn’t
really need the third session, but it
was part of the deal, so I went. Rhonda
is so caring. You’re not just
a number who walks through the door.
She really cares about you as a person.
And she makes no judgements.
They give you a
tape to listen to if you feel you are
going to have a set back, and on one
side it describes what she does, and
I’ve listened to that side, but
I didn’t need the other.
People think it’s
a lot of money—but look how much
I’m saving not buying beer.
I think of all those
people who spend all that time and money
in dry-out clinics and you can have
it finished in 20 minutes. It was amazing.
I talk about it all the time.
How in-tune was
Rhonda with all aspects of your physical
and emotional being?
She was right on
about everything. Right on with all
the medical intuitive stuff. Every word
of it. There are no secrets with Rhonda.
One of the times I went back she told
me about a wasp nest in one of my barns—and
I had just seen it that morning.
How long has it
been since your last treatment? Have
you had any cravings for alcohol?
It’s been
one year today. All my friends can’t
believe it. I don’t know what
to tell you. I just think she’s
the greatest.
